MUNROSKI VS. GRANDMANANER – 2021

In 2020, Ryan Munro, also known as Munroski, embarked on an extraordinary challenge: to kayak, bike, and run over 116 kilometers around Grand Manan Island in a single day. This ambitious endeavor aimed to crown him as the first-ever Grandmananer. Captured over 24 intense hours, this short film, released in 2021, marked my debut in the realm of short documentaries and initiated my series of maritime adventure films. Supported by funding from the Charlotte Coastal Region Tourism Association, the film provided a gripping portrayal of Munroski’s grueling journey. Its success extended beyond the screen, earning recognition at several festivals across Atlantic Canada, including the Outdoor Film Festival where it clinched the title of Best Atlantic Canada Film. Further acclaim awaited as the film aired on Season 7 of Reel East Coast in 2022, a production in collaboration with FIN: Atlantic International Film Festival and CBC, solidifying its status as an inspiring tale of human endurance and maritime exploration.
